Dr Shane Kenna is a Doctor of modern Irish history with an interest in late Victorian Ireland. He has previously advised the BBC and has worked in Irish History for several years as both a researcher and lecturer.
He has been interviewed by Newstalk Radio, Near FM, BBC Radio 4 and has written for History Ireland, the BBC History Magazine and Kilmainham Tales.
In May 2013 Shane organised an international symposium on late Victorian Ireland highlighting existing research. Entitled, The Irish National Invincibles and Their Times: Perspectives on Late Victorian Irish Nationalism, it took place in Wynn's Hotel, Dublin.
His new book, War in The Shadows: The Irish-American Fenians Who Bombed Victorian Britain will be released September by Merrion, an imprint of Irish Academic Press.
